Some people have a single creative pathway. A single door through which they channel all of their energy and focus through to shine for others. I've found that my creative energy ends up taking two; music and writing.
Sometimes, this can be a struggle to switch my focus between these passions. However, recently I've begun a project that unifies the two. I'm currently writing my next fictional book series, Starlight & Shorelines, and I'm writing the soundtrack for the music at the same time.
For me, life is a soundtrack. I can't go a moment without having a song playing in the back of my mind as I travel around the beautiful landscapes of this country. So, it seems fitting, as I'm writing this new story, that my main character also has music flowing through her veins and swirling around her head as well.
"Two paths, one Door", is the saying here in Door County as State Highways 42/57 connect all the villages and provide access in and out of this beautiful peninsula. It's only fitting that my own creative endeavors are connecting here, coming together in a way that hopefully magnifies the essence of my own voice through my stories and songs written in this magical landscape.
I'll be performing and collaborating with some amazing musicians and songwriters up here this summer, and I hope you'll catch me at one of my gigs!
